Let us take you comfortably to the Invicta City, after which Portugal was named when this city was still called Portus Cale.
Worldwide known for its wine, bridges, architecture and historical centre, the city of Oporto has been qualified as World Heritage by UNESCO.In this tour, we will visit Ribeira Square, the Muro dos Bacalhoeiros and the House of the Prince, where Prince Henry is believed to have been born in the 14th century.
Before we visit the Stock Exchange Palace, with its incredibly rich mixture of architectural styles, we will pass by Saint Francis Church, dated of 1223.
The visits to the Oporto Central railway station and to the Church of Saint Clare are two indispensable landmarks, as well as the discovery of one of the many Port Wine cellars, including an optional wine tasting.
We will admire the D. Luís I Bridge, a metallic construction with two roadways built in the 19th century, which connects the cities of Oporto and Vila Nova de Gaia. This site provides excellent panoramic views over the Oporto city.
We shall end this tour at the mouth of the Douro River, one of the most touristic locations, from where we may contemplate the sea and take a long and beautiful stroll along this magnificent marginal road.
